Jatin was attempting to retrieve a volleyball when he was caught in the powerful undertow. A massive search and rescue operation ensued, involving both police and search teams who worked tirelessly for nine days.

Jatin's tragic loss has sent shockwaves through his family and friends. His cousin, Rithik Garg, described Jatin as an independent, disciplined, and hardworking individual who always strived for a better future. He said that Jatin had chosen Canada to pursue his dreams and build a new life.

The RCMP confirmed the heartbreaking news in a statement, expressing their condolences to Jatin's loved ones. The process of repatriating his body back to India has been initiated.
